6th May 2015, Mumbai, India: Cambridge English Language Assessment, part of University of Cambridge, welcomed “The English Advantage” as the latest Centre to join its international chain of Authorized Exam Centers for Cambridge English exams, succeeded by a Seminar on “Learning Oriented Assessment”, at Mumbai on 5th May 2015.
The launch of new Centre, “The English
Advantage” at Ramachandra Lane extension, Kanchpada – Malad West,
Mumbai, was witnessed by Ms. Angela ffrench, Director of Operations –
South Asia, Cambridge English, Mr. Amol Dhamdhere, Vice-President,
Indian Education Society, Mr Melvyn Leonard, BDM, Cambridge English, Ms.
Shyaonti Talwar, Academic Consultant, Cambridge English and Mr. John
D’Souza, Proprietor, The English Advantage along with other
academicians.
“The English Advantage” – new Centre, is
now accredited to register candidates and schools for Cambridge English
exams, in Mumbai. The purpose of launching this Centre is to reach out
to more educational institutions in Mumbai that would be willing to
offer Cambridge English qualifications to the teachers and students in
order to enhance the overall standard of English language and get
exposed to the international testing system. The Mumbai aspirants will
now be gratified with globally appreciated qualifications and potential
English communication skill that will prove valuable in their lives.
Cambridge English and The English
Advantage intend to provide a profound knowledge about the importance of
proficiency in English language to students and teachers of Mumbai. It
aims in augmenting their soft skills and aids in fruition of molding
them into a competitive workforce globally. Akin their endeavors,
Cambridge English aims to fortify the Mumbai aspirants with
international and national qualifications that are mapped to the Common
European Framework of Reference, U.K.
Ms. Angela ffrench, Director of
Operations – South Asia, Cambridge English Language Assessment said “We

goal is to benchmark the expertise of English language to the students

With relevance to the launch, an
informative seminar on “Learning Oriented Assessment” (LOA) was headed
by Ms. Shyaonti Talwar, Academic Consultant, Cambridge English. The
seminar conveyed the importance of language assessment and how it can
impact the overall objective of enabling and enriching skill based
language teaching and learning. It was attended by Principals, Directors
and English HODs from IGCSE, IB, ICSE and CBSE schools.
